The Sue Ryder home for cancer patients at Oxenhope, near Keighley, is appealing for £16,000 to enable a further 12 beds to be established. Speaking about the work of the home at a meeting of the Bradford Rotary Club yesterday, Mrs. Joyce Pye, the honorary secretary of Manor Lands, said that this was the first cancer home in the country and more of its type were badly needed.

Following the visit of the Cambridge (Bradford) team to Sheffield last Saturday, two young Bradford district footballers. David N. Sturgeon, wing half back, 5ft. 9 in. 11st. aged 17, and Geoffrey Harrison, goalkeeper, 6ft. 3in. 12 st. aged 18, have signed amateur forms for Sheffield Wednesday.
