A manufacturer and supplier of office storage and furniture equipment is set to invest a million pounds in its Bradford production plant.
Flexiform Business Furniture Solutions, which is part of the Bullough Group plc, is set to invest £750,000 immediately in new manufacturing equipment, including two new press brakes, to meet an increase in the volume of orders.
The firm also plans to undertake a major refurbishment of the company's Thornbury site.
The refurbishment programme, which is due to be finished by September 2002, will involve relocation of the warehousing and distribution facilities and refurbishment of administration, production control, planning, design and engineering offices. Flexiform, which has been supplying the office furniture market for over 40 years, reacted swiftly recently when it saw an upturn in business, following a difficult period of trading for the company.
The firm's management re-organised its manufacturing, sales support and office administration operations to deal with the upturn.
Luke Borwick, managing director of Flexiform, said: ""The full impact of all this investment, which will exceed £1 million by early next year, will underpin the long term future and growth of Flexiform and all its employees."
