Super League champions Bradford Bulls will turn their hand to rugby union this summer.
They have entered the International Henley Sevens on Saturday, August 10, but Bulls' chief executive Abi Ekoku said today: "The side will mainly comprise players from Wakefield Rugby Union Club.
"It would be nice to give players like Tevita Vaikona, Lesley Vainikolo and Robbie Paul a run out there, but the Bulls have a Super League match at Halifax that day so it is unlikely, although a final decision will be up to Brian Noble.
"Unfortunately Sevens tournaments like these often clash with a critical stage in the rugby league season.
"But it is an opportunity to introduce Bulls fans to the union game and for the players of both codes to get together."
The Bulls will line up against seven Zurich Premiership sides, including their former star half-back Henry Paul's Gloucester.
Bath, Leicester, London Irish, London Wasps, Northampton and Saracens will also feature in the 16-team event, which will serve as a warm-up for the Middlesex Sevens.
Five-time winners Fiji Spartans will return and the British Army, the reigning Middlesex champions, will also field a team.
Ekoku said: "This venture is a one-off and there are no plans to enter a team in the Middlesex Sevens."
