HALL Park kicked off their season with a 27 runs win at Guiseley where Nick Fraser's men struggled against the bowling of P Warburton (4-31) and J Holliday (4-20). They fell for 82 in reply to Park's 109 of which D Wilson made 39 and M Cully 34.
There was some good batting for Calverley with N Thornton top scoring with 72 and Andrew Simpson making 53 as they totalled 190-4 against North Leeds who replied with 112-8 as K Reed bowled well for 5-53.

Division B
Rain delays and poor light made a result improbable at Burley. Tim Ross showed early good form with the bat but a shortage of partners and good light ensured that Alwoodley's total was never seriously threatened.
Burley were weakened from the start by the loss of up and coming junior Shane Etherington who has been hospitalised following a major leg fracture incurred in his last football game of the season.

Division C
IN Division C Pool Mills started their season with a fine win over Ben Rhydding who struggled against the accurate bowling of Ray Smith and Patrick Parker. Wickets fell steadily and following the introduction of Matthew Keane Ben Rhydding crumbled with Smith finishing with 4-50 off 25 overs and Keane 4-25 off 13 overs.
Chasing 105 to win Mills began disasterously losing four wickets for just 12 runs. However, up stepped Matthew Keane with an unbeaten 57 and 16 year-old Simon Wood with an unbeaten 27 to guide Mills to what was in the end a comfortable victory.
Horsforth went down by five wickets to Thackley after being restricted to 122-9 despite 60 from the bat of K Welsh.
