The Divisional Road Engineer of the Ministry of Transport has turned down Bradford Corporation's scheme for a change-over from gas lighting to electric lighting on main roads in the city. Today the Corporation's Street Lighting Sub-committee, discussed the letter rejecting the scheme. The Divisional Engineer said he was prepared to submit one section of the plans for approval by the Minister - that covering Lumb Lane, Church Street, St. Mary's Road and Oak Lane in its entirety, and part of another covering Little Horton Lane.
