Highfield Bowling Club is hoping to attract new members of all ages following a £10,000 face-lift.
The club on Highfield Lane opened its new-look pavilion on Sunday after an extensive refurbishment over the winter.
Project Manager, Jim Cormican, said: "Compared to what it was it's fabulous.
"It has been transformed into a first class facility and it allows us to open the facilities to more members.
Terrible weather conditions forced officials to abandon the Sunday Floodlit handicap at Cross Hills last Sunday.
Only a few first round games had been played before they had to bring the competition to a halt. Play will continue on Sunday at 6.30, weather permitting, with the games starting from where they left off last weekend.
The Skipton Inter-District team lost 15-6 to Huddersfield in their opening match of the season. The away team performed quite well at Netherton where there were good wins from David Cadwallader, Richard Dunhill, Jamie Cunningham and Ed Hall.
The Sunday morning knockout finals are being held on Sunday starting at 10.30 with Cross Roads A meeting Whins Wood A on the Midgehole green at Hebden Bridge. The teams qualified compfratbly against Old Town and Denholme respectively.
The main event of the weekend is at Highfield on Sunday with the start of the Foster Cup. The competition is sponsored by the Golden Charter and David Gallagher and play starts at 9.30am. Current title holder Trevor Hargreaves is a notable absentee from the starting line-up.
