An excellent double save by Tom Allmark early in the first half kept Oaks Under-9s in a hard fought game and laid the foundation for a 3-0 win over Shipley. Matt Moore scored first after good work on the right from Joe Mitchell and Tom Hudson.
Captain Joe Alvey scored a great solo goal and a second from Moore, along with excellent defending from Luke Chapman and Jack Aky, sealed victory. Tom Allmark and Joe Alvey shared the man of the match award. The win confirmed the team's third successive league title.
Oakworth Under-7s A beat Nab Wood 5-2 to keep alive their chances of taking second place in the league. Scorers were Ryan Cox (2), Adam Millward (2) and Marshall Pedder. Nab Wod played some good football despite their bottom of the table position. Luke McDermott was man of the match. Oakworth now have to beat Gomersal to pip them for second place.
Oakworth Under-12s beat Eccleshill 7-2 with Andrew Fox enjoying an excellent first half. He set up the first goal for Adam Spencer and headed the equaliser. In the second half man of the match Thomas Thompson scored twice with further goals coming from Kurtis Towler, Glen Walbank and Fox.
Oaks Under-12s beat Bolton Woods 3-1 in a cup game which was ruled by the wind. Andrew Fox and Adam Spencer scored first half goals for Oaks to lead 2-1 at the break. Glen Wallbank was magnificent in midfield as they turned to face the wind in the second half, supported by Elliott Sharpe in defence and Thomas Clark who was constantly under pressure in goal. Five minutes from time Fox scored his second, a fine individual goal.
Oakworth Under-13s lost to Wyke in the semi-final of the league cup. John Butcher gave Oaks the lead with a 35-yard free kick and doubled his tally with a shot from even further out as he took advantage of the high wind. Oliver Gee added a third following a superb through ball from Charles Clegg and Butcher completed his hat-trick when he scored direct from a corner kick. Liam Gill tapped in the fifth goal after Butcher had another long range shot saved by the keeper but Wyke managed to pull one back before half time. Wyke took control in the second half scoring six times to make the final score 7-5. John Butcher was man of the match.
Oakworth Under-7s lost the last game of the season to Silsden Under-7s B. Both teams played well in bad weather conditions but Silsden were too strong in the second half. Jack Cryer was named man of the match and manager Steve Cryer would like to thank all the players, and their parents, for their support.
The last outing this season for Silsden Under-7s B brought a 4-0 win at Oakworth. Playing in atrocious weather, scorers were Zachary Conway (2), Jack Lee and James Wilson. Men of the Match were Christopher Gill and Joshua Brown.
Oakbank Under-9s A beat Idle Saints 5-1 in their penultimate game of the season. Man of the match Josh Caine scored a hat-trick and Josh Stubbs added the other two goals.
