Nicky Law could have to wait until next season before taking the rap for a verbal attack on referee Rob Styles at Wimbledon.

The Bantams boss was charged with misconduct by the Football Association after being sent off in the April 6 game following a row in the tunnel at half-time.

But the FA are no nearer sorting out a date for a hearing and it could drag on into the next campaign.

A spokesman said: "We try to get it done as quickly as possible. I'd assume it could be quicker because we are out of season. But we have to gather all the evidence first and speak to the necessary people. That can take some time."

Law is likely to be hit with a two-game ban and heavy fine but has not asked for a personal hearing.

He was involved in a heated exchange with the Waterlooville official over the amount of added time at the end of the first half. Styles included the incident in his match report, accusing Law of "unreasonable behaviour".

Styles is no stranger to controversy and has been rarely out of the news since. He banished Derby boss John Gregory to the stands the next week against Newcastle and caused fury at Ipswich by awarding a dubious penalty for Manchester United's Ruud van Nistelrooy.
