A scheme which aims to recognise booming inner city firms was launched last night at the Royal Armouries.
The Inner City 100 Index, which is in its second year, is supported by a variety of organisations including the Bradford-based Asian Business Development Network (ABDN).
Inam Ratyal, a business advisor at Business Link West Yorkshire which is also supporting the scheme, said: "We are pleased to be supporting this event as it raises the profile of successful and progressive businesses in the mainly deprived inner city areas.
"This can only enhance the spirit of enterprise which in turn will add momentum to the economic regeneration of the local economy."
Peter Ramsden, head of the Inner City 100 project, added: "This region provided some perfect examples of entrepreneurial talent last year so we're looking forward to seeing what it has to offer in this second year of the Index."
Nominations for this year's scheme include Bardford's Empire Electrical Stores which has a turnover of £200 million.
Arshad Chaudhry, chairman of ABDN, said: "Businesses and entrepreneurs who have prospered in adversity, working in the inner cities are the real heroes of our times.
"We need to celebrate their success. The Inner City 100 Index aims to bring recognition to these companies."
Anyone can nominate a business. For further information visit www.theinnercity100.org.uk."
