Every West Yorkshire police officer on duty during Bradford's riots is to be honoured with a prestigious bravery award.
In an unprecedented move, judges have jointly nominated all officers from the county's force and those from the British Transport Police who faced the worst disorder on mainland Britain for the last 20 years.
More than 300 were injured in last summer's violence.
Three officers will represent their colleagues at next week's Police Bravery Awards in London.
They will attend a reception at 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, before the ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel where the Home Secretary, David Blunkett will present the awards.
The high-profile event is being organised by the Police Federation which represents rank-and-file officers.
West Yorkshire Federation spokesman Richard Critchley said: "But for the courage, dedication and devotion to duty shown by every officer in Bradford that night, over long periods although exhausted and outnumbered, there is no doubt the rioters would have stormed the city centre."
