Two life-long friends went Up Pompeii with their copy of the Keighley News.
Irene Lock from Haworth (right) and Jean Ferguson from Ilkley basked in the sun as they visited the historic city ruins while on holiday in southern Italy.
It was a sentimental journey for Irene, from Sedge Grove, who made the trip in memory of her late husband the Bront biographer John Lock.
Mrs Lock says: "We had a painting of Amalfi by the German artist Edmund Berninger that brought much happiness to the family over the years.
"John and I always promised that one day we would travel to Amalfi, but unfortunately he died before we had the chance.
"Jean and myself took trips to Capri and Amalfi and it was absolutely out of this world."
