ATHLETES start an action-packed period by taking part in the Amateur Athletic Association Championships in Bedford this weekend.
Matthew Watson will be competing in the Under-23 5000m and Oliver Brewer (right) is to run in the Under-20 steepchase.
Oliver, one of the most promising prospects on the athletics scene, will also represent North Yorkshire in the English Schools Championship to be held in Nottingham on July 12-13.
Olive recently received a special award from North Yorkshire Schools after representing the county on 28 occasions at Cross Country, combined events and track & field.Other local athletes heading for the Nottingham competition include Rebecca Long who will represent West Yorkshire in the 300m hurdles and the relay.
Emily Noble will also be on the West Yorks team, taking part in the sprint hurdles with Frances Noble taking part in the long jump and relay.
