The parents of a teenage boy who was knocked down by a hit-and-run driver have made an appeal to find his killer.
Julie Haley and her husband Paul made their comments after a coroner at a Bradford inquest recorded that 18-year-old Andrew was unlawfully killed.
Solicitor Robert Tribe said on their behalf after the case: "We are satisfied with the verdict but we would like to see someone brought to justice.
"We make a heartfelt plea to anyone who knows anything about the incident to come forward and talk to the police.''
After announcing his decision, assistant deputy coroner James Turnbull said:''I hope those who perpetrated this disastrous event will be brought to justice in due course.''
He added: "The attitude of whoever was driving that car was such that if they were apprehended it would lead to a charge of causing death by dangerous driving - equivalent to a charge of manslaughter.''
Mr Haley, of Flaxton Green, Bradford, was crossing Barkerend Road, Bradford, on October 18 last year when a stolen Volkswagen Passat, fitted with false number plates, hit him at speed.
He was thrown in the air and ended up being partially lodged under a parked car, the inquest was told.
Mr Haley fell unconscious and died seconds later from a fractured skull.
The driver of the car failed to stop and accelerated away after the incident at about 10.30pm.
After a part of the vehicle was recovered, it was later matched to a red Passat which was found torched the following day in Prospect Road, Bradford.
Accident investigator Anita Blow said the 2000 model was found to have damage which was consistent with being caused by a pedestrian.
Bismillah Sadiq was sitting in a friend's car opposite a fish and chip shop when he saw the tragedy unfold.
He described how Mr Haley stepped off the footpath between two parked cars, looking both ways.
"One minute this gentleman was standing there and the next minute he started to sprint across the road.''
Mr Sadiq said he noticed a car travelling at 60mph to 70mph at that point and then heard a bang.
"He looked like a bag in the air after this bang.'' He added: "He (Mr Haley) hesitated for a second and then all of a sudden he decided to sprint across the road, thinking he was going to beat this car that was coming down.
"This gentleman who has killed this other gentleman -- he has taken a life. He deserves life. It hurts me very dearly. He was a very young lad. He was somebody's child. It is a great loss.''
The inquest heard that inquiries into Mr Haley's death would not stop until the driver and the occupants of the car were found.
Anyone with information about the tragedy can contact PC James Moss at Odsal police station on (01274) 376698 or the helpdesk at Bradford Central.
