In 1867, the Exchange Clock, in Market Street, Bradford, was first set in motion.
In 1880, the Bradford Banking Co. was established as a Limited Company.

Bradford's top pop group, Smokie returned home in triumph yesterday - to a reception party with their proud mums and dads, wives and children. The group, which started playing in Bradford clubs, have now sold more than three million records all over the world, earning them seven gold and platinum records each.

Each member of a working men's club spends on average about 7s a week on beer, says the half-yearly report of the Workingmen's Club and Institute Union executive, to the national council meeting which will be held in Bradford from Thursday to Saturday. The report says that out of the 7s about 4s 6d is tax.
