Paul Anderson today spoke of the injury frustration that will keep him out until just before the play-offs.
The giant prop resumed training earlier this week after breaking his arm on a Halifax opponent's skull last month.
He has had seven screws inserted into a plate in the damaged limb and is expected to be out for another nine weeks.
"I am looking to come back for the last five or six weeks of the regular season," said Anderson, who was told he would have featured in David Waite's Test party were it not for the injury.
"It is getting very frustrating, especially as my team-mates are all flying out later this week. I am still hoping to get a place as a water carrier."
Anderson is slowly returning to training, with just bike work and light jogging at the moment.
"There is no point in rushing back into it. If I get back for the last few weeks of the year, and then get a chance in the play-offs, then I will be hoping to be available for selection for Great Britain for the New Zealand tour."
Meanwhile, in-form Brandon Costin is set to miss out on tomorrow's Super League match at home to Widnes Vikings.
The 30-year-old Australian, who scored two first-half tries in the 34-26 defeat at St Helens last Friday, injured a rib in that match.
Costin, who didn't re-appear for the second half of the defeat, said: "I popped a cartilage and will definitely miss the Widnes match.
"It was just because I twisted when I was being tackled. I wanted to stay on my stomach and they wanted me on my back.
"We had a bit of an arm wrestle and the ball was underneath me."
The shaven-headed centre added: "But hopefully I will be back in time for the home game against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Friday, July 12."
The Bulls will be missing their Great Britain contingent of Jamie Peacock, Stuart Fielden and Lee Gilmour.
The Test match against Australia is also that day at Sydney Football Stadium, and the Bulls also have James Lowes, Mike Forshaw, Paul Deacon and Leon Pryce on Great Britain stand-by in case any players are injured tomorrow night.
