Waddilove Cup specialists Guiseley strode through to the semi-finals in the Aire-Wharfe League at Follifoot's expense and are on course for a fourth successive appearance in the final.

The holders have now defeated teams from all three divisions on their way to the last four, accounting for Division C opponents Bolton Villas, Tong Park from Division B and top flight side Follifoot.

Their hopes of reaching yet another final are sky-high as they meet Division B side Pool at the semi-final stage on Sunday, July 21, after Pool's surprise elimination of North Leeds. In the other semi-final, Hall Park, from Division B, take on Bilton.

Guiseley's Andrew Paley and Chris Wain were the chief wicket-takers in the 16-run victory against Follifoot after Guiseley had totalled 241 for seven. Howard Reeve led the way with 52, while Ian Chaplin and Steve Thompson both fell one run short of their half centuries.

Despite struggling for consistency in the league, Pool have knocked out Alwoodley, Harden and ace scalps North Leeds in the cup. Former Spen Victoria all-rounder Philip Dibb was outstanding in his side's 17-run victory over North Leeds, who currently lie third in Division A.

Dibb made 39 in the Pool total of 205 for five and then joined Graham Squires in taking four wickets.

Rawdon are left to concentrate on the battle against relegation after their quarter-final defeat by 115 runs at Bilton. Rawdon had no answer to the left arm spin of Luke Jarvis, who took five for 17, including four maidens, in his nine overs.

Neil Waite was the visitors' top scorer with a mere 24 runs as Rawdon were shot out for 103 in reply to Bilton's 218 for six.

Hall Park are going for league and cup glory. The undefeated Horsforth side currently head Division B and they defeated Division A opponents Beckwithshaw by an impressive 44 runs.

Matthew Elliott pointed the way with a fine 69 as Park totalled 232 for seven. Rob Wilkins made a valiant 50 in the unsuccessful reply and there were three wickets each for Jamie Simpson and Craig Hobson.

The league programme reached the halfway stage with Adel, Hall Park and Harden leading Divisions A, B and C, respectively.

Adel returned to winning ways against Rawdon.

Grant Lindsay smashed a magnificent 140 and shared a third-wicket stand of 158 with Neil Spragg, who contributed 49. Replying to the Follifoot total of 218 for five, in which Brian Smart hit an undefeated 103, Steeton lost their first two wickets for only eight runs.

However, Lindsey and Spragg turned the game in their favour and the home side had 13 overs to spare when the winning runs were hit.

Hall Park have a one point advantage over Otley at the top of Division B, with Kirkstall and Tong Park a further point behind.
