SILSDEN'S World Trial champion Dougie Lampkin preserved his lead in the World Championships with a first and second place in last weekend's two-day meeting in Valmalenzo in Italy.
Lampkin was a comfortable winner over a series of very testing sections on Saturday, beating his team-mate Takahia Fujinami by 17 points, but his rival took revenge the following day when he pipped Lampkin for top spot after the pair had finished level by virtue of having the most clean sections in a tie-break.
