Bradford's new Commonwealth champion Junior Witter plans a speedy return to the ring.

Light-welterweight Witter is set to face unbeaten Welshman Bradley Pryce in September, possibly on the Ricky Hatton undercard at Manchester's MEN Arena.

Witter, who destroyed Ghana's Laatekwai Hammond inside two rounds on Monday night, is being groomed by promoter Frank Warren for a huge domestic showdown with Hatton early next year.

Witter said: "I'm planning two or three fights before Hatton and I want to be out again as soon as possible.

"Ideally I'll be on the Hatton show on September 21 but Frank has also got Johnny Nelson fighting a week later. The Hatton night would be the best, though, because it would keep building up the rivalry between us."

Pryce, 21, fights out of the Calzaghe gym in Newbridge and has won all 16 of his professional outings.

He is a former WBO inter-continental lightweight champion which he won on points against Jason Hall in Cardiff 15 months ago.

Bradford lightweight Bobby Vanzie is still waiting to hear when he will fight his WBO eliminator against Brazilian Edson Nasciemento. That could be scheduled for either September date.
