In 1897, Victoria Park, Oakenshaw was opened.
In 1921, it was Budget Day in Bradford, rates were set at 18/3d. in the pound, and the heatwave finally broke.

The Bradford-based Provincial Building Society is linking with Thomas Cooks to run the first building society holiday saving scheme. And the scheme will mean up to £50 off the holiday price and a special rate of interest on the money saved. Under the new scheme, a family of four booking a package holiday to Majorca now costing £300 could pay only £275 with the interest earned, and the discount.
