A warden at a Silsden sheltered housing complex is retiring on Sunday after 18 years.

Nora Barrett, 60, is the warden at Staincliffe Court, where she lives.

Originally from Utley, Mrs Barrett has three sons and has enjoyed her long service as a warden.

She says: "I have worked for Bradford Council for 33 years and started as a home help." She is hoping to move back to Utley and says that she will be kept very busy by her five grandchildren!

Maureen Cameron, who has worked with Nora for the last 16 years at Staincliffe Court, says: "This has been Nora's life for a long time and she has been wonderful. No-one could fault the work she's put in, and it certainly won't be the same without her."
