A technology firm is seeking twins to help revolutionise the way we live and help it test a system which could be worth millions.
ICR Group, which is based in Saltaire, has developed a computer system called Casper which is able to recognise people by the way they speak.
And it needs identical twins to help test that the system is foolproof.
The firm, which was established in 1996, says the technology will change the way we live as it will open the door to general elections by phone and allow totally secure telephone banking and purchasing.
The firm, which has a turnover of £18.5 million, says its system can now identify a caller purely by voice - authenticating it against 19 databases to confirm their identity, where they live and other information.
Potentially the system could prove a person's identity and even their potential spending power.
The technology could spell the end to passwords and other identity related documents such as passports and driving licenses.
Unlike existing voice recognition systems, which use computers to recognise spoken words, this system can tell the difference between different voices and could even spell the end to directory enquiries as we know it.
Jonathan Smith, managing director of the firm, said: "The closest voice matches of all are between people who are genetically identical, have grown up together and learned to speak together in the same environment.
"Despite this, we believe that each twin's individual experiences will have had an effect on their voiceprint and that Casper will be able to tell them apart."
The firm believes that with 96 per cent of adults using a telephone in the UK the potential is "enormous", and says Casper cannot be fooled by even human impersonators.
A person's voice is unique to its owner, even more so than a fingerprint, and can identify a person as soon as they begin to speak.
The challenge for Casper is to see if it can identify different identical twins - who have the most similar voice matches of all.
The firm is starting trials this month and would like identical twins interested in taking part in the experiment to call 0870 8307123.
The firm, which develops telephone solutions for companies handling high volumes of calls, is interested in twins from across the UK so it can compare accents. Trial results are expected to be published this autumn.
