A student is embarking on an African adventure to help educate young children.
Ruth O'Dwyer is to spend five months teaching primary school-age children in the East African country of Uganda. The 18-year-old from Greenhead Lane, Keighley, who has just finished her A-levels at Holy Family School, will jet out to Uganda in January.
She has organised a fundraising evening of entertainment at Holy Family School today featuring the band Soul Fish.
Tickets for the social evening tonight, at 8pm, are priced £4, which includes supper. They are available on the door or from Offshoots, in Cavendish Street, and Holy Family School.
