n Lothersdale woman Marti Clement returned home in style to perform in the village hall with her musical partner.

Marti and Jo Bywater, who go by the name A Coo Stik Blu, recently graduated from Liverpool "fame school" LIPA with music degrees.

The songs ranged from pop classic Patience of Angels and blues number Before You Accuse Me to groove-based jazz rendition Moon Dance and free-time ballad Woman's Work.

Ema says: "The controlled, diverse and emotional vocals came courtesy of Marti, accompanied by the creatively-tasteful guitar contribution of Jo.

"They commanded the crowd with a vibe that expressed a true passion and enjoyment in their music."

Before the duo's appearance, local entertainer Chris Hazel charmed the audience with original songs from his album Face.
