A BARNOLDSWICK woman has drawn on her own experiences to pen a new book for children.
Sue Broom, of Colin Street, has written Hill Top Farm which tells the story of sheepdog Jack and his owner Sue who live on a farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
It was Sue's own sheepdog Jack and her previous work as a cattle and sheep farmer that proved the inspiration for the story.
The book is aimed at the inquiring minds of young readers and follows Jack and Sue on a series of adventures in which they encounter the varied animal characters on the farm and engage with Sue's family and the people of the local village.
Sue, who currently works with horses, says the stories were brought to life while she was walking her constant companion Jack.
She already has two more stories in the pipeline and eventually hopes to pen five in total.
Readers can buy their copy of Hill Top Farm during the official launch at Sarah's Tack Shop in Albert Road, Barnoldswick, on Monday, between 10.30am and 2pm
If you can't make it there, the book is published by Serendipity and will be available in all good bookshops.
