WHERE England failed in the World Cup Horsforth's James Milner triumphed scoring a goal against Brazil to take the England Under-17 side to victory in the Nationwide Trophy.
England won this prestigious international competition after drawing 1-1 with Brazil in their final match.
James, who plays for Leeds United's youth teams, really caught the eye in the tournament.
He scored one and made the other as England defeated the Czech Republic last Thursday and was in the team that drew 2-2 with Italy in their opening game.
James then opened the scoring against Brazil after Leeds United teammate Aaron Lennon made a characteristic burst down the right wing in the first-half to set James up.
James showed great composure to control the ball eight yards out, step inside a desperate challenge and coolly curl the ball into the left hand corner.
Brazil had won the tournament for the previous two years. They hit back to equalise from a corner.
James was ecstatic by the trophy win saying: "It's tremendous. We worked hard over the three games and it is a great feeling to win a tournament like this."
James a pupil at Horsforth School has been given a three year YTS contract with Leeds United.
