A former Oakbank school pupil is following in his father's footsteps and pursuing a career in medicine.
Roland Partridge, 24, from Oakworth, is to begin training as a doctor this summer having successfully completed six years of study at Oxford and Edinburgh.
His success has delighted father Gerald, who is a GP at Holycroft Surgery in Keighley.
He says: "I never pushed Roland into this particular field, but we are very proud of what he has achieved."
Roland has paid tribute to the tutoring he received during his formative years at Oakworth First School, Bronte Middle School and Oakbank Grammar School, which inspired him to succeed in his chosen career.
During his time at Edinburgh University Roland was one of a group of medical students who organised a fact-finding trip to Bolivia to study the affects of altitude.
The project, which was based at a lab 18,000 ft up Mount Chacaltiya, was featured on Tomorrow's World.
