Silsden Carnival committee is keen to quash rumours that this year's carnival will be the last.
Secretary Graham Inman, 44, explained: "There seems to have been rumours that this year's carnival will be the last one - I've heard them.
"But we're pleased to say that it won't be.
"We are hoping for a successful event after last year's was cancelled because of foot and mouth disease and we are all set for Sunday, July 28."
The town has had a carnival committee since 1906 and Mr Inman, who has been secretary for the past eight years, first got involved when he was 13.
Mr Inman, of Weatherhead Place, says that the carnival is a special event in the town's calendar and hopes that this year's will be a big success.
Billed as a great day out for all the family, the event is being held at Jackson's Riverside Field and will feature the Marsh Falconry Display Team, a Punch and Judy show, side stalls, trade stalls, the city of Leeds pipe band, Silsden majorettes, a beer tent and disco.
The crowning of the carnival queen will take place at the Punch Bowl at 1pm. The procession starts at 2pm from Dradishaw Road.
Williams funfair will be open on the site on Friday and Saturday from 6pm and on Sunday from 1pm. Tickets are on sale throughout the town please ring 01535 654761 or 07889701645 for more details.
