The new president of Keighley Lions is on a mission to raise the profile of the organisation.
Eric Acomb has pledged to raise greater public awareness about the fundraising and community work done by members during his year in office
Mr Acomb, 72, a member of Keighley Lions for ten years, took over the reins from retiring president Janet Walton during a presentation evening at his home in Bracken Ghyll Drive, Silsden.
He said: "It's disappointing to me that whenever you talk to people they ask who the Lions are.
"We are the largest service organisation in the world and we have been here for more than 50 years, working for the benefit of the community."
Mr Acomb was manager at Woolworths, in the Airedale Centre, Keighley, and ran Cononley Post Office with wife, Edith, for six years before retiring in 1990.
