Firefighters led a man to safety from a burning building in Devonshire Street, Keighley, in the early hours of Sunday.
Crews guided the man through the smoke-filled three-storey block of flats after fire broke out on the second floor.
He was given oxygen but did not require hospital treatment.
All other tenants in the 12-flat complex escaped unaided when the blaze started, shortly before 3am.
Two crews from Keighley and one from Bingley attended, and used a hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.
The blaze is being treated as suspicious.
Station officer Ronnie Barker said: "The flats comprise two terrace houses knocked into one, and the fire had started in a second-storey corridor connecting the two parts of the building.
"Most occupants managed to get out on their own, but we had to rouse one man and guide him to safety.
"Fortunately, a fire alarm in the building had sounded so we were alerted to the situation quite quickly."
l Two men -- one aged 22, the other 19 -- were arrested in connection with the incident, and have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
