A Bingley relief road worker has designs on being a top fashion guru.

For Mark Pearson spends his spare time drawing up ideas for outlandish suits.

And the 29-year-old's latest creations include a bright green two-piece, pictured, and an orange ensemble which turn more than a few heads when he is out on the town.

Mark, who works on the Crossflatts section of the £47.9 million relief road, said he started designing his own clothes after not being able to find unique clothes on the High Street.

"I just like to stand out in the crowd and I love being the centre of attention," said Mark, of Ingrow, Keighley.

"I've no experience or qualifications related to clothes designing but I know what I like and I like unusual things."

Now Mark is giving his suits his own design label, Coco's, and has a few more ideas up his sleeve.

"I'm not influenced by any particular designer but my next couple of suits will be extremely eye-catching," he said.

Friend Alan Calkeld, 31, said: "Mark's label is very fitting as he's known as being a bit of a clown.

"He stands out a mile when we go out and he always attracts the girls."

Now Mark is willing to draw patterns for friends and others daring enough to wear something a bit different.

He takes his designs to Mughal Tailoring, in Oak Lane, Bradford, where tailor Nasar Mughal makes his drawings a reality.

"His designs are very bright and I have to be very careful matching the fabric with the cotton," said Mr Mughal.

"I enjoy making his suits as they're fun and definitely not run of the mill.

"He has some good ideas and who knows, he may be a famous fashion designer one day."
