Keighley coach Gary Moorby will tell his players to get back to basics for the trip to Featherstone on Sunday.

After Hull KR inflicted a second consecutive heavy defeat on Keighley, Moorby wants to see the simple things done correctly this week.

"Our ball control was a nightmare, our completion rate was at 50 per cent in both halves and we continually surrendered possession, particularly early on in the sets," said Moorby.

"It doesn't matter who the opposition is - if you constantly cough up the ball you can never build any momentum and having to defend all the time is bound to be costly.

"Control of the ball is a major fundamental of the game and too many of the players failed to do that. It's frustrating because we had a very positive week in training and our ball work had looked sharp."

Moorby wants to see a return to the post-Buddies Cup improvement in performance.

"We need to go out against Featherstone and prove to everyone we haven't returned to our old ways," added Moorby, who has some injury concerns ahead of the game.

"Going to Featherstone will be a good test of character for us. We need to roll up our sleeves and put last week behind us. The players are eager to make amends. Featherstone were well beaten at Batley at the weekend and a win is not beyond us if we apply ourselves correctly.

"And that didn't improve in the second-half and I don't want to see that again. The only way to move forward for us is to complete our sets and keep the ball.

"It might sound boring but it is the basics we have to get right before we can start worrying about other things.

"I want to see them keep it simple, just five drives and then a kick to the corner.

"I have been watching a tape of their game against Batley and they are not all that great.

"We just need to keep it simple and get things right and who knows what we can achieve.

"If we can take care of the basics then people like Danny Fearon and Paul Ashton might just be able to provide that ex-tra spark to win us the game."

On the injury front Craig Horne could be back, while late fitness checks will be required on Lee Kelly (ankle) and Karl Smith (ribs).

Cougars Academy side made it two wins on the trot when they pulled off a 23-14 home win over Dewsbury Rams.

They led 10-8 at the break and despite playing uphill in the second half managed to stretch their advantage.

Try scorers were Chris Hartley (2), Andy Feather and Peter Hilliam, who also kicked two goals. Alister Beaumont added another and Hartley kicked a drop goal. Hartley and Richard Blackburn had standout games in a superb team performance.

The Academy match due at Workington tomorrow has been called off.
