Bradford's newest public square is set to be transformed into a film set as work begins to produce the city's very own movie.
More than 100 extras from across Bradford are being signed up to star in the film along with a string of local celebrities.
Once filming is completed in the autumn, the one-hour-long shoot will become the backdrop to Bradford's newest piece of public artwork - to be shown on a giant screen in Glydegate Square.
A camera will then take pictures of people walking in the recently completed £5 million square, and superimpose them on to the artistic background.
Most of the filming is set to take place on October 1 when about 100 extras will be filmed moving across the square in an artistic movement, choreographed by artists Frances Hegarty and Andrew Stones.
They will be joined by Goodness Gracious Me star Kulvinder Ghir, actress Jenny Agutter and TV presenter Richard Whiteley.
Council chiefs are recruiting the extras to star in the shoot - and are approaching staff from businesses including the Chamber of Comm-erce, Bradford Health Authority, Education Bradford, along with voluntary and charity groups.
The movie, which is costing about £100,000 with support from the National Lottery, is expected to be unveiled on the big screen in November.
Artist Frances Hegarty said: "This exciting project will feature images of local people from different walks of life alongside famous celebrities and live images of people visiting Glydegate Square.
It is a celebration of Bradford's unique links with the film world and I am sure it will prove a popular attraction for visitors to the city's busy West End."
Council leader Councillor Margaret Eaton said she is keen to see a wide variety of communities represented among the extras who feature in the film.
"I am delighted to see this latest piece of public art take shape," she said.
"Innovative street art has an important role to play in the city centre's development and vibrancy.
"The recruitment of local citizens representing different generations, communities and occupations is a great idea.
"I am looking forward to seeing the finished project going live in the autumn."
