Judging for the Cowling Amateur Gardener's Competition, which was started by the parish council five years ago, has now been completed thanks to the expert help provided by Keighley News editor Malcolm Hoddy and Vivienne Mason of the Craven Herald.
The judging was based on the general appearance, design, creativity, content and individuality of each entry.
The results were as follows: containers and hanging baskets - 1st Fiona Foulds; 2nd Mona Townson; 3rd Susan Black.
Yards (back or front) - 1st Irence Beasley; 2nd Caroline Winterburn; 3rd Joan Tindale.
Lawned garden (back or front) - 1st Sheila Harrison; 2nd Geoffrey Binns; 3rd Michelle Spencer, with a merit prize being awarded to Mr and Mrs Goward.
The overall winner was Sheila Harrison on her first attempt in the competition.
Parish councillor Charlie Thornton and chairman John Alderson presented Sheila with the overall winner's shield on Monday.
