Police are promising to crack down on car tax dodgers in Denholme.
Following residents' concerns about the number of untaxed vehicles in the village, police have promised to get tough on offenders.
PC Ian Hemsworth told Denholme town councillors that a traffic warden from Bingley would be asked to come up to the village to do routine checks.
He said: "There is a massive problem with untaxed vehicles parked up in the village.
"Now that a traffic warden has access to a police vehicle he will be able to come up here, do a check and issue tickets if necessary."
Denholme mayor Councillor Anne Jay said: "Our problem is untaxed vehicles that are actually being driven around the village."
l Town councillors are to maintain links with a village company following concerns from villagers about unpleasant smells.
Members of the town council visited the Pennine Fibres factory after residents complained about unpleasant smells coming from the plant.
Councillor Val Sokald said: "We had a good meeting with people at Pennine Fibres, and they have assured us that their emissions comply with EU regulations.
"They weren't aware of the smell problem so we have opened up dialogue on that." Mayor Councillor Anne Jay said they were told that machines which caused smell problems in the past had now been moved off site.
