Robert McLarnon, of West Bank Close, appeared before Bingley magistrates on Tuesday facing two charges, of possession of heroin and possession of cannabis.
Unemployed McLarnon, who has two previous convictions for drug offences, pleaded guilty to both charges.
The Court heard how police found a bag of heroin in his pocket and cannabis hidden in a camera in his room.
Keith Blackwell, representing the defendant, asked magistrates for leniency on the grounds that he was only a lodger in the house, which was targeted by police as the home of a drug dealer, and had since moved out and returned to live with his parents.
Mr Blackwell stressed that McLarnon was apprehended with only a small quantity of heroin, amounting to around £5 in value, and that the cannabis in the camera had been there so long that he had forgotten it was there.
He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40 costs.
l In a separate case Tracy McCrae, of 34 Salisbury Road, appeared at Bingley Magistrates Courts on the same day.
She was charged with possession with intent to supply. McCrae was released on conditional bail to appear before magistrates again on August 13.
