A young man has gone on trial accused of taking part in last summer's disturbances on a Bradford estate.
Liam Whitaker was allegedly caught on video during the night-time clashes between up to 40 white youths and police in the Ravenscliffe area of the city on July 9.
Whitaker, of Parkside Drive, Eccleshill, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of violent disorder.
Prosecutor David Kelly told Bradford Crown Court how the 18-year-old was seen holding rocks in his hands. It was also claimed that Whitaker then joined a group of youths who were throwing bricks, stones and sticks at officers.
Mr Kelly said the issue in the case was whether the jury could be sure that Whitaker had been one of those who were involved in the incident.
The court heard how four officers thought they knew the defendant when a video was shown at Eccleshill police station.
One of the officers, PC Phillip Stickells, said he was able to recognise him by his "general demeanour" and the way he walked.
Members of the jury watched the video - which lasted more than 30 minutes - of the troubles in Ravenscliffe.
The trial continues.
