A new advice bus will be taking information to the heart of Aire Valley's communities.
The service, set up by Bingley Voluntary Action (BVA), is targeting the four corners of the Shipley constituency. Funded by cash from the Government's Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, the £100,000 service is staffed by two BVA advice workers. Project co-ordinator Tracey Harrison said the aim was to take information to people who might be unaware of what was out there for them.
"The constituency includes a number of rural areas and people can have difficulty travelling into town centres," she said. Young people and young families don't want to be trailing about on buses with children in buggies to have to queue up to get information on benefits, plus there's also the cost of transport."
Anyone interested in signing up as a volunteer can contact Mrs Harrison on (01274) 781222.
