Water stocks in Bradford continued to drop this week - a decline which started in the middle of June. Six weeks ago the reservoirs were a healthy 96 per cent full, but have now sunk to 79 per cent, higher than the drought level for the same period last year. The chairman of Yorkshire Water Authority, Mr John Brown, drew attention to the diminishing supplies at today's meeting of the Policy and Resources Comittee.

Horton Park Station, one of Bradford's suburban stations, which has for some time now seen only passenger traffic bound for attractions at Park Avenue, is to be closed from Monday, September 15. British Railways announced the closure with regret, but the station had been run at a considerable loss.
