The Battle of Pudsey takes places in six days time and is almost certain to decide the winner of the Bradford League.

Yet again the leading duo matched each others' results, keeping the gap at the top just one point.

Wins on Saturday have set up the big clash next week, with Woodlands and Farsley being the

victims .

Woodlands could manage just 161 for nine at home to Congs - who have won ten from 16 this summer so far - and it was never going to be enough.

An unbeaten 69 by Andy Bethel set up the victory, which was achieved with five wickets and plenty of overs to spare.

And with Congs triumphing, it was vital St Lawrence did the same, and the Red Laners could do nothing to stop them.

Nahim Ashraf and John Goldthorp both hit half-centuries as Farsley put together 170 for four, but, even with Tariq Aziz failing, St Lawrence still managed the total.

Renowned for their batting, James Smith stepped up with the big innings (61 not out), and victory was achieved with four wickets still in the bag,

Undercliffe returned to winning ways, despatching Cleckheaton by seven wickets.

Andy Walker took five wickets as the relegation strugglers were confined to just 155 for eight.

Then an unbeaten 60 by Chris Taylor helped the third-placed side to the win, hitting the required runs in just 34 overs.

Bottom-placed Lightcliffe struggled once again, East Bierley this time reaping the benefit.

Yet another imperious display from overseas star Jaffer Nazir, with six wickets this time, helped keep the visitors down to a mere 126.

And with 106 from the opening stand, Jonathan Proud hitting 56, it was never going to be a difficult chase for Bierley.

In the 29th over they had their six points, with eight wickets still to come.

Cup revenge was not forthcoming for Baildon in their trip to Hanging Heaton.

And with the Heavy Woollen Cup praying on their minds, they could only manage a losing draw on the typically tricky wicket.

Steve Foster hit 82, while Ishmail Dawood was unlucky to only get 29 as the home side notched 201 for seven.

Baildon just played out the draw, managing only 122 for eight in their 50 overs in a game that typified a wet day in the Bradford League.

If ever a pitch wasn't going to survive the week of downpours, it was going to be Yeadon's, the relegation-threatened side having to make do with a point against Spen Victoria.
