The son of a well-known amateur rugby player has organised a concert in memory of his father.
Ian Nicholson, who was well known throughout the region as one of the great characters in Yorkshire rugby union, died last September just days after leading his team, Heath RUFC, into a match.
His 15-year-old son Jack, a pupil at Rastrick High School, will be performing live on stage at The Ian Nicholson Memorial Concert, held at The Viaduct Theatre in Dean Clough Mills, Halifax, on Saturday September 28 at 6pm.
It is hoped the concert will raise thousands of pounds for the Leeds-based Neurosurg-ical Research Fund.
Jack said: "Ticket-holders will be guaranteed an evening of super surprises, support acts and a fantastic stage set. They will walk away stunned"
Jack, along with school friends, has raised more than £1,000 for the Neurosurgical Research Fund.
The three main acts include local bands Bosco, Freefall and The Breed. Call the ticket hotline 07796404339 or email: inmc@itshereweb.com
