City have reported a surge in ticket sales for the Wolves game since being given the all-clear by the Football League.
They expect a large turn-out for Sunday's televised clash at Valley Parade - and are urging fans to turn up early to avoid congestion.
Managing director Shaun Harvey said: "Sales of matchday tickets have increased considerably over the last two or three days as everyone looks forward to getting back to football again.
"We are extending the ticket office opening hours to cope with the demand and it will also be open on the day of the game. But we would ask as many supporters as possible to buy tickets in advance to avoid unnecessary congestion.
"It's the first game of the season and unfortunately we haven't had the opportunity to do a lot of work which we would have carried out under normal circumstances. Everyone will do their best to make sure people are not inconvenienced although obviously it will be easier if fans get there early."
The ticket office opening hours have been extended from 9am to 5pm tomorrow and from 9am on Sunday. Season-ticket holders should go to office B with any inquiries.
Turnstiles W15-W18 in the Sunwin Stand will be open for cash admission to the upper tier, costing £16 or £17 for adults.
Wolves, who should bring around 2,500 fans, have been given blocks E, F and G of the Ciba Stand as well as the Symphony.
