The Northern Ballet Theatre presents its world premiere of Wuthering Heights on Septem-ber 21-28 prior to UK tour.
The adaptation of Emily Bronte's novel uses an original score by Claude-Michel Schon-berg, composer of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon.
Lighter-hearted fare comes in the form of new musical Boogie Nights starring Sam Kane and Sophie Lawrence (Oct 7-12).
The show recreates songs by artists such as Rod Stewart, Elton John, Sister Sledge, Gloria Gaynor and The Carpenters.
Returning to the Alhambra are the musical Rocky Horror Show (Nov 4-9), Return to the Forbidden Planet (Sep 30-Oct 5), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Dec 2-7). The life of Buddy Holly is portrayed through songs such as Peggy Sue, Maybe Baby, Heartbeat and True Love Ways in the musical Buddy (Nov 19-23).
Shows for youngsters include The Hobbit (Oct 29-Nov 2) and Winnie the Witch (Nov 13-16).
English Touring Theatre brings its critically-acclaimed version of William Shakespeare's King Lear on December 10-14.
Kate O'Mara and Jean Marsh star in Sheridan's comedy The Rivals, a tale of mistaken identity and amorous confusion (Sep 3-7).
Carl Rosa Opera return to the Alhambra with a new production of Gilbert and Sullivan's comic operetta The Gondoliers (Oct 15-19).
Amateur musicals come in the shape of Stage 84 with Annie (Oct 23-26) and Bradford Catholic Players in Oklahoma! (Nov 25-30). The season ends with the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk starring comedian Billy Pearce, former Emmerdale actress Malandra Burrows, and Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men (Dec 20-Feb15).

p Local children have a chance to join Darren Day in the cast of this year's pantomime, Aladdin at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.
Auditions are being held on Sunday, September 15 for children aged from six to upper teenage.
Babes must be at least six years old, with a maximum height of 4'6 (enrol 9.30am). Intermediate dancers must be aged 12 to 14 (11.30am).
Seniors, aged 14-plus and at least five feet tall, and have all-round dance ability (jazz and ballet an advantage). Enrolment 2pm.
