Modelling scouts will be descending on Bradford's Kirkgate centre seeking out potential Kate Mosses and Naomi Campbells as part of the Telegraph & Argus Model Search competition.
On Saturday, August 17, between 11am and 3pm, a team of spotters will be approaching people who they think have got the looks and personality to strut their stuff on the catwalk. Their details and a photograph will be taken and they will be automatically entered for the competition heats at the Kirkgate Centre on August 26.
More than 100 wannabe models of all ages, heights and sizes, who live and work in the Bradford district, have already entered the competition.
On the day of the heats the shopping centre will feature a catwalk, full lighting, sound and compere. The contestants will take to the catwalk to try to impress the judges. The winners of the heats will compete in the grand final on Saturday, August 31, also at the Kirkgate Centre.
As well as winning vouchers to spend at shops in the Kirkgate Centre, grand finalists also get the chance to be scouted by Nemesis Model Agency which has offices in Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham.
The competition will be split into four age categories. These are:
l Ages four to six, boy and girl.
l Ages seven to ten, boy and girl.
l Ages 11 to 15, boy and girl.
l Adult male and female.
A male and female winner will be selected from each category and each will receive vouchers to spend on clothes at the Kirkgate Centre.
Michael Tierney, of Messages Public Relations Limited, which is organising the team of spotters to visit the shopping centre, said: "We will be scanning the streets and the Kirkgate Centre for the natural and quirky looks of the locals and for those who would be at ease strolling down a catwalk.
"Modelling is not just about looks. Sometimes if people have something unusual about them, then that too can be a plus point.
"Agencies are looking for people who look confident, but not arrogant, and who also have poise and a sense of fun."
Mr Tierney said supermodel Naomi Campbell was just 15 when she was spotted by Elite Model Agency.
