A woman who has been told she has six months to live is hoping Telegraph & Argus readers can reunite her with her father.

Anne Kidd, 41, has lost touch with her father Dennis who was last known living in Bradford.

Now fighting lung cancer, she has been advised that she could only have months left. And she is desperate to renew contact with her father before it is too late.

"We are pretty sure he is still in Bradford," said Barbara Kidd, Anne's sister.

"He used to run his own business there. Our parents split up when I was about three and we just lost contact over the years. The last time I saw him was about 15 years ago."

Irish-born Mr Kidd separated from Anne and Barbara's mother Annie when the two girls were small. The couple had lived in Northern Ireland where Anne and Barbara still live, but he made a new life in Bradford after the marriage broke up.

He continued to see his daughters but the last contact was about 15 years ago. Barbara has tried his previous address, but the trail has gone cold.

Mr Kidd, who will now be 62, used to run his own business in Bradford called Goldmark Insulation and at one time lived at Reginald Street.

The family are hoping a last-ditch appeal through the T&A will enable them to get in touch with Mr Kidd once more.

"My sister has been given six months to live," Barbara said. "She has a tumour on her lung, and is at home at the moment although she is due to go into hospital for chemotherapy. She has been told that it will not cure her, but help her live a bit longer.

"She was very close to her dad at one time.

"She said to me a lot of months ago that if anything ever happened to her she wanted her dad to know. She would be so happy to hear from him now. She's asked me to see what I can do."

l Anyone with information about Mr Kidd's whereabouts is asked to contact his daughters by telephoning 02890 592861 or writing to 20, Columbia Street, Belfast, BT13 3HL.
