Cougar Academy made it four wins in succession with a thrilling 34-28 victory over Whitehaven last weekend.
The lead changed hands several times in a superb game which brought sweet revenge for the 56-12 defeat at Whitehaven in their third game.
"The boys have come a long way since then and their never-say-die spirit got them through again," said manager Jeremy Crowther.
One or two mistakes gifted Whitehaven tries, but they more then made up for the errors with some sparkling rugby. Outstanding performers were Andy Feather and Richard Blackburn, the Cougar halfbacks, with loose forward David Armitage winning the man of the match award for his workrate.
But the most important quality waqs the team performance which brought tries from Peter Hilliam, Adam Webster, Steve Cullen, Brady Godfrey and Andy Feather. Peter Hilliam and Alister Beaumont scored two goals each and their were vital drop goals from John Carter and Andy Feather.
