Claus Jorgensen today urged City's players and fans to come out fighting when they blast off into the new

season against Wolves.

The Bantams must put a summer of turmoil behind them in front of the TV cameras at Valley Parade tomorrow.

And Jorgensen believes it is the perfect stage for a show of unity for the football world.

City's Danish midfielder said: "We have all been in the same boat. Everyone has thrown it at Bradford for the last few months and we've all had to take it, there has been no running away.

"The players have talked about the fans and what effect it has had on them. As players, we can move on and maybe get another club but supporters are Bradford City and that's it - you can't just swap to Leeds or other clubs.

"That's why we really must stick together. It's going to be a real test now and hopefully we can put an awful pre-season behind us.

The players must wait another couple of weeks for their first wage packet since the cash crisis began, although some have been given one-off payments by the union.

Managing director Shaun Harvey said: "The PFA have been dealing directly with the players and the club's responsibility will recommence with the pay role that's due at the end of August.

"The PFA appreciate the players haven't been paid since May 1 and have made individual grants in some cases."
