CCTV images of three people who could hold clues to the murder of auto electrician Brian Hardwick - shot in the head nine months ago - have been released by police.

The images are of three people buying petrol from a supermarket where Mr Hardwick's stolen cash card was used. Police hope the individuals pictured may have seen something or hold the clue to information which could help them catch the killer.

The images were taken at the Asda petrol station in Bradford Road, Huddersfield, at 6.13pm, 6.18pm and 6.29pm on Wednes-day, November 21, last year - less than an hour after Mr Hardwick was last seen alive at his place of work.

The Wild West enthusiast from Wibsey was found dead at Huddersfield Car Electrical Services in Colne Road, Hudd-ersfield, at 8am on Thursday, November 22, last year. He had suffered two gunshot wounds to the head and chest from a small calibre weapon.

His Yorkshire Bank cash card was used at 6.15pm on Wednes-day, November 21, at the Asda cashpoint. The card-holder tried three times to withdraw cash.

Despite media coverage and appeals by Mr Hardwick's wid-ow, Lynne, 51, police are no closer to catching those responsible.

"It will be nine months to the day of Brian's murder on August 21," said Mrs Hardwick, a word processor for Bradford Council. "It is not getting any easier - it is constantly there on my mind, 24 hours a day.

"Even with a reward of £10,000, there hasn't been a whisper, which makes me think that Brian was a target and this was not an opportunist attack. If it was random, you would have thought those responsible would have mentioned it to someone."

Police still have no idea as to a motive for Mr Hardwick's killing.

"I would love a phone call to say 'Lynne, we've arrested someone in connection with Brian's murder'," said Mrs Hardwick.

"Everybody is feeling a bit despondent at the moment, especially because many murders which have happened since Brian's have been solved."

The couple, who were members of the Range Riders Country and Western Club, had only been married for six months when he was shot.

Mr Hardwick had been washing his hands ready to leave work but had brought his car back into the premises to change a flat tyre when it was believed he was attacked.
