Ten bands have so far signed-up for what looks set to be the largest-ever gathering of Keighley musicians.

Several more bands and musicians are likely to perform during an "open mike" slot between the afternoon and evening.

The groups are appearing as part of the Board-Fest organised by Keighley's rock-community web site Noseboard.

Most of the performers are young outfits who have built a following in Keighley over the past 18 months.

The evening headliners - playing Bradford's 1 in 12 Club on August 31 - include Deepfill, (pictured) Circus?, Nosebone, Breene and Pitfall.

Flukeshot Frenzy brings the afternoon session to an end following sets from Fat Priest and new bands Wet Paint, Secret Squirrel and The Alysons.

The concert is the brainchild of Nosebone musicians, who originally planned an outdoor gig in Haworth.

He talked to the 1 in 12 Club, which was looking to organise an all-dayer, and the event has grown ever since.

Nosebone member Joe Tilston says: "It's practically all punk, but there's quite a lot of variation. The first three bands are mainly cover bands, but the rest play mostly original material."

"It'll be a great day. We're expecting a lot of people turning up. So long as you like rock music in general, there's something for everyone."

Joe says members of bands already on the programme will get together during the open mike session to play their favourite songs.

"There are so many musicians and so many people know so many songs - it'll be a bit of fun," he explains.

All-day tickets for the concert cost £6 from the Offshoot shop in Cavendish Street, Keighley (from next Monday), or phone 07779 449504.

Prospective performers can phone Joe on the above number, turn upon the day or visit the web site www.noseboard.tk.

Cheaper tickets will be available on the web site for afternoon or evening only. The event runs 2pm to 1am.
