Bradford girl Grace Ofori-Attah scored 99.3 per cent in her chemistry A-level, placing her in the top five nationally out of 11,000 candidates for the AQA exam board. Grace, who attends Woodhouse Grove School, will now go to Cambridge to study medicine.
The successes were high points of a day of celebration across the district as thousands of students collected their results.
Nationally the grades were the best ever, with one in five an A and passes shooting up to 94 per cent.
