In their first open-age match, Keighley Ladies AFC put up a good fight and although they lost 4-2 to Osset coach Neil Farley was delighted with their performance.
Mr Farley says: "I was really impressed with the team. The game went really well - it was just a pre-season friendly but it was a close game.
"We used a lot of substitutes so the game didn't flow as well as it might but it was certainly very encouraging."
The goal scorers were Gemma Scott and Maria McArdle.
The club is also to have an Under-17 team playing in the
West Riding County Girls Football League.
The first season will start in September and coach Neil Farley says: "The team is an under seventeen side and it is the first time a team from Keighley has played in this league.
"There has been so much in-terest in the side that we are even looking for a new coach.
"The future coach doesn't have to be formally trained but they have to be enthusiastic."
Anyone interested in coach-ing the side should contact either the club secretary Michelle Boyle on 01535-210066, M: 07960-475191 or Neil Farley on 01535-215574, M: 07774-891140.
